Shield of Care

Shield of Care is a training for juvenile justice staff to recognize the warning signs of suicide and learn ways to support youth considering suicide in juvenile detention settings. Attendees will be introduced to the S-PLAN model: Seeing increased risk for suicide, Protecting youth’s immediate safety, Listening to the youth’s concerns, Assessing the youth’s suicide risk and needs for help, and Networking with community helpers.
